Yknow what I realized this weekend? I'm married. MARRIED! for months I've been living in this bubble that it doesn't feel all that different. And then this past weekend it all hit me. While it was 60's and sunny and a day I'd normally want to spend bbqing with friends and enjoying a cocktail was spent painting the trim on the first floor, and putting together patio furniture. And guess what?! I couldn't be happier. It's quite funny how your priorities shift so much, and things you never thought you'd enjoy make you happier than ever. :)

love you babe <3

And here are some before and after pictures...

Bedroom Updates

I figured I'd start off the week with a couple of pictures of the bedroom (before and after). We still aren't 100% there yet, but making huge progress. *please note, the before pics are from the previous owner*

AFTER:

Our next renovation is to get rid of the "mirrored" closet doors and replace with white wood doors. CANNOT WAIT!!! and painting the trim (still white, but it's a little grungy).

In case you are wondering, the color is from Restoration Hardware. LOVE LOVE LOVE their paint!

My name is Jess, and I'm a procrastinator.

I admit it. I am a procrastinator.

Procrastination refers to the counterproductive deferment of actions or tasks to a later time. Psychologists often cite such behavior as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with starting or completing any task or decision.[1] There are three criteria for a behavior to be classified as procrastination: it must be counterproductive, needless, and delaying.[2] (Wikipedia)

If you gave me a deadline of 6 months from now, I probably wouldn't start until right before the 6 months was up. I can make deadlines, but I think I secretly like the stress of racing to finish things and the pressure. But, no one should have told me I had a year to finish my wedding invites. It's not that I'm ungrateful. It's not that I'm trying to be rude. I just think I find excuses of other things to do and the thought of having to write out SO many makes me ill. I want to take the time to be considerate and thank everyone for their gifts since everyone was SO generous and thoughtful.

So before Jarrett officially killed me (because yes, he is NOT a procrastinator) I finally went and got my thank you's and the proof has arrived for me to share. Ironically, I ended up picking from the same company as my wedding invitations.
In honor...

What a week!

Wow, this was one crazy week. We both had tonssss of work to do, so it was quite nuts trying to get to work a little early and stay a little late. We had puppy class which is always a fun hour of the week teaching little Lincoln some new tricks and giving him time away from Knight. We also got to check out some John Mayer with my Dad and some AMAZING seats. I will say though that going to a concert makes me feel 100 years old. We only had a couple of beers, but didn't get home until almost midnight and needed to tire the pups out, so it was a late night. I just can't hang like I used to.

We also had a fabulous weekend where I picked out our thank you notes (yes, I am terribly behind!) and spent time with Nicole and Veronica picking out their wedding invitations. They both have such different weddings and taste, but both styles are gorgeous I am so excited to see what they finally settle on. I hosted my first wine night at our house which was such a fabulous night with the girls and where we had a psychic come and spice things up. what a ball! It was nice to share our new house with my ladies, and I'm already looking forward to next months meet up. :) And we concluded it with a loss to Canada in the finals, tear, and my cousin coming over to dinner with his wife and little girl. Man, I thought having two dogs was tough. She was a ball of energy and I realized I'm content on our decision to hold off a little longer.... ;) But damn is she precious.

Here's to March.... can you believe it? MARCH! And 20 days until SPRINGGGGGGG.

I need spring, NOW.

Just another rambling before I fully begin this long, crazy hell of a day of back to back meetings.

I googled spring, wondering what images would pop up when I did this. Yup, all the amazing things I thought of too, way to go google!

Retraction

I am one lucky lady. I got my tulips. And I got them at work. And they were beautifulllllll.

But my wonderful hubbie did tell me one important fact and it warranted a retraction.

"might want to footnote it too, since I can attest, they are NOT cheaper than roses." hehehehe.
