Since all my prego bloggers give you "bumpdates" I'm going to give you a pupdate. Don't say I didn't warn you, TOO CUTE.

Where has all the money gone?

Who remembers that movie "The Money Pit" with Shelley Long and Tom Hanks?


I loved this 80's movie. Remember they buy this house for a deal and it falls apart. Thankfully, no Jarrett and I did not purchase a money pit, BUT we still seem to be spending all of our money on our house. I find myself choosing mirrors and closet doors and granite countertops over new jeans, shoes and getting my hair died. When did I become so old? Is this what it's always like? I also want everything NOW, even though that is utterly rediculous and we can't afford it.

We have a contractor coming this weekend to look at the work we need done and get started on our projects...door for the basement, 2 new windows, new closet doors....and a quote for making the 3 season porch...wait for it, 4 season!!! :)

I'm pretty sure the $8K tax credit and all my tax money and commission checks are also going towards this house and our dogs. Because yes, it did cost us $400 at the vet a couple of weeks ago LOL. Man, this whole grown up thing....

And then there were two.

Lincoln has arrived! And the boys are beginning to get used to eachother. I snapped this picture on my phone the other night...it just makes me melt.

Hello 2010.

I'm excited to say today is January 4th. We had a wonderful weekend filled with The Joshua Tree at the Hardrock on New Years, some delicious Chinese food, movies and our couch on Friday, a rediculous amount of errands and shoveling on Saturday (followed by some killer bowling on Saturday night--but not by me) and then of course the Sunday night blues.

Boston got killed this weekend with its annual New Years snowfall and I'm not a fan of this new tradition. In total accumulation it's not terrible, but it pretty much snowed from Thursday-Sunday.



But I am also a little ancy about the arrival of January. We have a new puppy coming home on Saturday, Lincoln. We spent almost $150 at Petsmart preparing for the little guy and even watching a DVD about taking your puppy home. Poor Knight is in for a rude awakening and so are we.

We also have Jarrett's mother coming this weekend to visit, and his sister coming at the end of the month for some QT with us, our house, and the new puppy.

And we are off to Mexico for 4 days to visit Navarro and soak in a little sun :) And Wilky will be spending a couple nights at our house before she leaves the cold New England for sunny and warm Houston!!! All of these activities give me a little stress when i have to think about packing, cleaning, puppies chewing things, and a lack of time in my own house. BUT, all for good things and good reasons.

Goodbye 2009

WOW. I can't believe 2009 is coming to an end. What a big year it has been for me.

• I planned a wedding.


• We got married. MARRIED.


• We bought a house. a HOUSE.


• I turned 26.

And then of course, Barack Obama became president. We had the outbreak of swine flu. The economy tanked.... etc etc.


There are of course the many things that went wrong... but I can't harp on those things. We'll fix those in 2010 ;-). I will try to go to the gym more often. I will try not to pig out. I will try harder at work. But really, I hope 2010 brings many things to me and to you.

Tis the season...

Wedding season has arrived and in full force :) It has me a little emotional because it's so different not being the bride. But in a really really wonderful and fun way. I love seeing what choices people make, and because my wedding is behind me--I find myself in a completely judgement free zone. I am just enjoying every part of being part of the process and trying on dresses or talking about the little details like colors and flowers and jewelery.

And on that note, two huge shout outs to my ladies Nicole and Veronica! who are my 2010 brides and who have asked me to be a part of their special day just like they were able to take part in mine <3

Nicole will be getting married in September at Cranwell. It's simply georgous, with the trees and mountains and other beautiful scenery in the background. She's chosen georgous pink bridesmaid dresses that are just so flattering and her gown is AMAZING. I wish I could show you! Very similar to what I did, she'll be doing an outside ceremony and inside reception--which is just perfect to cover any weather conditions.

Veronica will be getting married in October on the beautiful charles river and a view of the city at the Hyatt in Cambridge. Their ceremony will take place outside in the garden with reception to follow on thr 16th floor ballroom--stunning! Veronica picked amazing dresses as well in a "raspberry" tone and they are just perfect too (and also very flattering!).

I'm so lucky my ladies have good taste ;-)

Now that I've dished on their weddings (hope they don't mind), I hope you see how much fun this wedding planning can be, for both the bride and the people around them. It's such an amazing day, that goes by SO incredibly fast, so taking in all the details before the big day is so so important.

The holidays always seem to get me and I lose all track of time. Work is a little busier, free time is spent with family and friends at holiday parties, shopping for gifts, getting the Christmas tree and all of those tedious errands before it flashes by you with a mere 24 hours to cram it all into.

This year was a little strange. November was spent with my family a lot given the passing of my aunt, and Christmas was spent in Virginia as a Britt. A much warmer, less hectic Christmas for sure...but a very nice time nonetheless with a lot of movie watching!

I have to say the house is coming along quite nice. Jarrett's mom will be coming in 2 weeks to visit and we'll be spending quite a bit of time at Homegoods. ;-)

We also should welcome a new addition to our family (NO, no baby!)...Lincoln! He comes home on January 9th.... boy are we in for a rude awakening.
