Married Life.

As many of you know, Jarrett had knee surgery this past thursday. He is in an immobilizer and isn't supposed to put a lot of weight on it right away. What does this mean?

For Jarrett: well it means he is sitting on the couch becoming increasingly antsy because there is only so much tv he can watch... he couldn't enjoy the wonderful weather this weekend, and he needs help with a lot of things.

For Jess: I am his bitch and I've lost the man that takes care of the "heavy things". I need to do all the dishes, fetch his food, get him ice, make all the dinners (or pick up take out as I've seemed to master this), take out the trash, take Knight out etc etc.

THIS IS HELL.

It's hard for me to complain, because when I had my wisdom teeth out Jarrett was amazing...he took care of me (or rather put up with me!). But man, I want my fiance back. I don't like doing all the chores :(

It's been a while...

My sincere apologies to anyone out there that actually reads this every day for not updating lately. It has been a little hectic at work and I was traveling last week...

So, I decided to let you all in on some exciting news, my invitations have arrived!!!! I still haven't seen them (I got the email 5 minutes ago), but I cannot wait. I am not going to upload a picture until after they've been sent. I want it to be a surprise to our attendees and then once they've arrived, I'll upload it for all of you who won't be there. I plan to send them the first week of June...which feels like SO long away, but it's already April 21st.
Next, I have to give a shoutout to one of my bridesmaids, Veronica, who got engaged on Friday! They are so cute, and she was SO excited. It's fun to have someone to talk to who can relate, so I think I'm obsessed with her engagement... haha. But seriously, congrats guys!

Also, I officially booked my hair and makeup trial for May. I am having it done by my favorite couple--Bennie & Rich. As many of you have noticed, I've been growing my hair out. It's been awhile since it has been this long...and it's starting to get annoying... but hopefully it will be worth it. I've been looking around at some styles and thought I would share with you what I am thinking and get any recommendations/ideas/feedback etc. I won't be having flowers, but I want a low bun type thing that looks loose.

Love is in the air....

Is something in the air? I think it may be in part spring, the sun inching its way out and putting me in a better mood, the need for sunglasses or maybe the fact that countdown is getting shorter and shorter, or maybe that Jarrett just puts a smile on my face for no reason. People tell us to enjoy the engagement, and I know why...there is something romantic about it all. I know I'm a complete cheeseball, but as I sit here in my empty hotel room in California, I can't help it.

And since wedding season is starting up (I find myself obsessed with other people's wedding blogs and wedding details)...I'm going to post some pictures of our friends previous weddings and some of the good times we had at their weddings!

SHOUT-OUTS

And we're back! Virginia was great, great weather (except for the last day and its tornado warnings). We enjoyed some good wine, I helped paint his mother's garage & door and had some QT with my future in-laws. It will probably be the last time I see his Dad & Becca before the wedding (his mom will be coming up for the shower).

I figured I'd take the time to give a shout out to some of my vendors! They have been amazing to work with and I wouldn't be so excited about my wedding without them.

Flowers: Bella Flora
Bridesmaid Dresses: Flair
Invitations: Invitations by Susan, Lynn MA
Hotel: Hampton Inn, Plymouth MA
Hair & Makeup: FrancesRayJules Salon, Boston MA
Photography: Olivia Peters Photography

I also want to direct you all to our wedding website. It's a one stop shop for all of our wedding details. http://jarrettandjess.weddingwindow.com

Now I'll get back to agonizing over what the father/daughter dance will be...

Go Hog Wild

For those of you who don't know, Jarrett's family lives in Virginia. Not DC Virginia, but near Richmond and Newport News. There isn't much to do there, you need to drive at least 45 minutes to go to the movies or a mall... but I am looking forward to this trip more than usual. We normally go down to visit for Jarrett's b-day (3/25) but because the qtr ended on a Tuesday we had to delay by a week.

I will be: drinking lots of good wine, eating a lot of good dinners, going to the outlets (YES! YES! YES!), seeing a movie, and sleeping LOTS OF SLEEPING! Weather forecast looks good...60's and sunny most of the time :) Jarrett will enjoy that when he golfs.

I'm excited to update everyone on wedding plans and see Becca (Jarrett's sister) in her dress. I haven't been able to show them much lately and it will be the last time we see the fam before the wedding...

And since I am trying to get my butt into shape for the wedding, and end up dreaming of cupcakes and cookies I figured I would leave you with the bakery we are getting our cake from. (which the cake tasting WAS amazing, however I did feel sick after housing all of the different kinds) Montilio's. It's going to be really simple, but amazing, just out of this world. It's going to be square, with a beading at the bottom, yellow ribbon, and then dots on the cake. It will be a white cake with strawberries and kiwis and chantilly cream. MMMMMMM.
